(The last day of Yom Tov is the day they drowned, so we don’t say full Hallel on that day, but rather, we say half Hallel. Now, were we to say half Hallel on the last day of Pesah, and full Hallel during Hol haMoed, it’d be incongruous, so we say half Hallel for all of Pesah, except on the first day, on which we say full Hallel.)
For me when I think of Macos Bechoros I think of the whole story, of passing over the Jewish houses to only kill the Mitzriyim. I think of the Bechars, and how lucky they were to be saved, which reminds me of the siyum they make.
